The Environment Agency signs a memorandum to develop Al-Saleel Natural Park

The Environment Agency signed a memorandum of cooperation for the development of the Al-Salil Natural Park in the Al Sharqiyah South Governorate, with the Omani Indian Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO), to benefit from it in tourism, culture, society and economy, this morning at the authority’s general office.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Omari, Chairman of the Authority, signed on behalf of the Authority, and Mr. Saeed bin Talib Al-Maawali, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Omani Indian Fertilizer Company, signed on behalf of the company.
The two parties agreed to implement the first phase of the project, which includes the study, design and implementation of the development project and the operating line of the reserve for a period of two years after the completion of the development phase.
It is worth noting that the Al-Sailil Natural Park is one of the largest sites in the Middle East, which is considered habitat for the Arabian deer and is the largest according to studies, as the latest studies mentioned the existence of 7% of the global herd in this reserve.
The park is located in the state of “Al-Kamil and Al-Wafi” in the Governorate of Al Sharqiyah South, 57 km away from the state of Tire, with an area of ​​220 square km. It was declared according to Royal Decree No. 50/97 with an area of ​​220 square km. Oman (Eastern Hajar Mountain Range).
The main objective of establishing the reserve is to protect the vegetation and wildlife present in it, and other uses are compatible with protecting the natural components in the reserve, and this lies in providing the opportunity for visitors to get acquainted with the reserve without negatively affecting the site, as well as encouraging activities based on natural tourism that increase the The economic benefits, directly or indirectly, to the community and reduce the rational consumption of resources.
