Community practices some behaviors that harm the environment, either directly or indirectly. The most famous are: throwing waste in non-designated areas, burning materials generate greenhouse and toxic gases without the permission of Regional Municipalities, logging without a license, dig wells without a license, etc. These behaviors have a negative impact on the environment, so the community must be aware of such behaviors and to warn from their practice; it is our duty as citizens.

Oman lacks the means of solid waste management. Therefore, the government placed this issue among its priorities and designed a strategy to build sanitary landfills designed ergonomically for solid waste management in general. The implementation of the strategy was started by building Al Amirat sanitary landfill. So from now and onward until the completion of the Sultanate's strategy in the construction of sanitary landfills in the various regions of the Sultanate, the best way of solid waste disposal starts with rationalizing our consumption of these materials; not to buy modern equipment without the need for them. Second is by maintaining devices or sending them to needy families. Third, reduce the use of cheap devices that are damaged quickly and difficult to be maintained.

The Sultanate recycles some materials such as paper, plastic, metal, and glass. For more information, please visit the environmental services page.
